Langley Woods Residence

A home for three generations, built as the pilot project for the WELL Residential Program.

The clients for this project brought a rare brief: a home that meets the highest WELL standards and serves as the first test of the International WELL Building Institute’s new residential program. It suited a practice long committed to building well, where careful choices improve both how a home is made and how it is lived in.

Set in a wooded neighborhood among other homes, the plan and section balance privacy and connection, views and screening, aging in place and room to play. The landscape, developed with Bernice Wahler Landscapes and the owners, carries daily life outdoors. The result is resilient, net positive and shaped around the routines of each generation.
