Cedar Street Parking Deck

A parking deck and retail building that adds parking to downtown Cary while keeping the human scale of Chatham Street.

The deck is wrapped in red brick and terracotta, with each bay infilled by a bronze chevron screen whose pattern of half and full circles grows denser toward the ground.

At the corner, a steel spiral stair clad in ivory terracotta, hung on a cable-net system, marks the pedestrian entrance and ends in a balcony overlooking the street.
